Singapore stocks close 0.19 pct higher

Singapore stocks finished higher on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 5.41 points, or 0.19 percent, to close at 2,814.65.

A total of 978.7 million shares changed hands with turnover of 663.9 million Singapore dollars (495.4 million U.S. dollars).

Gainers outnumbered decliners 220 to 164, while 527 others finished unchanged.

The STI index gained 0.92 points, or 0.03 percent, to close at 2,809.24 on Monday. Enditem
