Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) will investigate its citizens who went to foreign battlefields, BiH Security Minister Dragan Mektic said here on Friday.

In total, 135 BiH citizens went to foreign battlefields including Syria and Iraq, he noted, 45 of them were killed and 50 others have returned to BiH.

"They are a serious threat to the national security of BiH. Together with the Prosecutor's Office, we are working on the issue and carry out investigations," he said.

Mektic said 18 people were indicted and 20 others will be indicted in the next several days for travelling to foreign battlefields.

Apart from Syria and Iraq, several BiH citizens also went to eastern Ukraine to join the fighting, local media reported. Enditem
