Final Fantasy XV to be launched in Chinese mainland

A Chinese new media company, Oriental Pearl, has signed a deal with Japanese Square Enix to bring Final Fantasy XV to the Chinese mainland.

The deal authorizes the launch of Final Fantasy XV on Play Station 4 and Xbox One consoles in the mainland market, as well as a cloud game version. The movie Final Fantasy XV will premiere at the 2016 Shanghai International Film Festival.

Since launched in 1987, the Final Fantasy game series has sold more than 100 million units.

Shanghai Oriental Pearl Media has cable TV, IPTV, consoles and mobile platforms as well as other content distribution channels which serve over 100 million video subscribers and game players.

The collaboration with Japanese Square Enix provides a connection between Chinese game distribution platforms and global content providers. Endi
