Chinese shares close slightly higher Thursday

China's stocks closed slightly higher on Thursday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.11 percent to 3,003.92 points.

The smaller Shenzhen index edged up 0.09 percent to end at 10,455.37 points. However, the ChiNext Index, which tracks China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, declined 0.47 percent to close at 2,238.29 points. Endi
