Disapproval rating for Brazilian president reaches 69 percent: poll

Brazil's President Dilma Rousseff is facing a disapproval rate of 69 percent, an Ibope poll showed on Wednesday.

The figures registered a very slight improvement compared to the previous poll, held in December, when 70 percent of the interviewees showed disapproval of Rousseff's administration.

The poll showed that some 19 percent of the interviewees considered the president's administration as "regular," and 10 percent thought it as "good" or "very good."

The Ibope poll was held on March 17-20 with 2,002 electors from 142 Brazilian towns .

Rousseff, who is serving her second term, is also facing a crisis of trust as 80 percent of the interviewees said they did not trust the president, and about 80 percent of the people polled believed that her second term is worse than the first one.

Rousseff is facing impeachment over allegedly illegal budgetary manipulations to cover the extent of Brazil's recession during her re-election campaign in 2014.

The embattled president, who is also dealing with the deepest recession in a generation, has been left dangerously isolated after the main coalition partner for her Workers' Party, the Brazilian Democratic Movement Party, announced Tuesday that it was pulling out and would support impeachment. Endi
