China-CEEC cooperation new impetus to regional development: BiH official

Xinhua, March 31, 2016 Adjust font size:

China-CEEC (Central and Eastern European countries) cooperation, or "16+1" cooperation, gives new impetus to the region's development, said Denis Zvizdic, Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), here on Wednesday.

"The 16+1 initiative gave a new impetus and new energy for linking economies of various countries, locally and globally, and it puts in focus the comparative competitive advantages in the region," Zvizdic said in a written interview by Xinhua.

"We are especially focused on Chinese investors, who are coming to Europe and BiH in ever greater numbers and with bigger investments in the fields of transport and energy," he continued.

He also talked about the coming Sarajevo Business Forum in May, which will be combined with the "16+1" economic and trade forum. "The forum will be a great opportunity to present the potentials of BiH."

Sarajevo Business Forum is to be held from May 4-5, to be participated by some 1000 companies from CEEC and China.

Bilateral economic cooperation between China and BiH has been going on smoothly, said Zvizic, adding that apart from projects in energy sectors, BiH is keen to develop joint railway and road projects with China. Enditem
