British FTSE 100 rises 1.59 pct on Wednesday

FTSE 100 Index, British benchmark stock market gauge, Wednesday rose by 1.59 percent, or 97.27 points, to 6,203.17 points.

Share price of Anglo American increased by 11.81 percent, topped the gainers of the blue chips. Standard Chartered, Rio Tinto, BHP Billiton and Glencore increased by 7.43 percent, 5.90 percent, 5.81 percent and 5.39 percent respectively.

Worldpay Group led the top losers of the blue chips with a share price drop of 1.16 percent, following by London Stock Exchange Group (0.46 percent), Berkeley Group Holdings (0.40 percent), easyJet (0.33 percent) and Babcock International Group (0.32 percent) . Endit
