The following are news highlights of leading Nigerian media outlets on Monday.

-- The presidency has said money recovered from corrupt government officials and their accomplices cannot be made public now because they are to be used as evidence against the looters during prosecution. (The Guardian)

-- The National Union of Air Transport Employees has revealed that foreign airlines plan to sack about 2,000 Nigerian workers due to what they claimed is their inability to transfer their earnings to their respective home countries to meet operational costs in accordance with international rules because of new Central Bank of Nigeria policy on forex and fund transfer. (Vanguard)

-- The Chinese government has donated military equipment worth five million dollars to the ECOWAS Standby Force to assist in its peace-keeping operations.

The equipment include Personnel Protective Equipment, high-capacity generators, tents and tentages, ablution facilities, portable kitchens, movable cabins, IT and communications equipment, eight transport vehicles, among others. (Daily Trust) Endit
