French, Czech leaders want firm response to terrorism

French President Francois Hollande and Czech Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka on Thursday called on European countries to take strong move and improve their intelligence and security cooperation in order to fight terrorism which rocked Brussels earlier this week.

At a meeting in Paris, both leaders stressed "the absolute emergency" to approve "without delay" passenger name record (PNR) program which is a database containing the itinerary for a passenger, likely to facilitate investigations over presumed terrorists.

Hollande and Sobotka also urged "the full and complete implementation of European Council decisions on the fight against terrorism," mainly by reinforcing information exchange and strengthen intelligences services cooperation, tough control over Europeans travelling abroad and muscle fight against arm trafficking and terrorism financing.

Speaking about the refugees crisis, they confirmed their commitment to implementing EU-Turkey deal "to quickly dry up (refugees) flow, help Greece and provide protection to refugees in need, in line with European values and international asylum commitments," said a press release issued by Hollande's office.
