Most Germans want tougher security measures following terror attacks: survey

The majority of Germans want tougher security measures after the terrorist attacks in Brussels and Paris, a survey showed on Thursday.
Following Tuesday's terror attacks in Brussels that killed at least 31 people, 77 percent of Germans are of the opinion that the security measures in Germany need to be permanently strengthened, according to a survey for ARD television.
The supporters for more security also said they could accept thereby additional costs and time delays.
When it comes to the refugee policy, most Germans expect no turnaround, as 77 percent of respondents doubt that the EU-Turkey deal will improve the situation of refugees.
On the contrary, 20 percent claimed that the situation should evolve after the agreement at the last EU summit. Endit
