Xinhua, March 24, 2016 Adjust font size:

Tokyo stocks dropped from the off Thursday as falling oil prices impacted U.S. shares overnight, as terror concerns in the wake of the Brussels attacks continue to weigh on short-term moves.

Shortly after the opening bell, the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average dropped 73.04 points, or 0.43 percent, from Wednesday to 16,927.94.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, relinquished 8.21 points, or 0.60 percent, to 1,355.99.

Notable early decliners comprised wholesale, and iron and steel-linked shares. Enditem
