Chinese, Japanese FMs discuss bilateral ties, Korean Peninsula nuclear issue

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and his Japanese counterpart, Fumio Kishida, exchanged views Monday on ways to improve bilateral ties and the Korean Peninsula nuclear issue.

In a telephone conversation, Wang expressed the hope that the Japanese side could make constructive effort to improve ties with China.

On the Korean Peninsula nuclear issue, the two ministers agreed that the UN Security Council Resolution 2270 should be implemented in a complete and comprehensive manner. They also agreed to explore ways to resolve the issue through negotiations in the process of implementing the Security Council resolution. Endi
