Turkish PM postpones visit to Jordan

Xinhua, March 14, 2016 Adjust font size:

Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu postponed a visit to Jordan scheduled for Tuesday, the state-run Petra news agency reported.

In a phone call on Monday, Davutoglu informed Jordan's Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour of the change of plan following the deadly bombing in Ankara late Sunday, which killed at least 37 people and injured over 100.

Ensour voiced Jordan's strong condemnation of the attacks, stressing full support to Turkey and its efforts to stand up to the heinous terrorist acts.

"We all stand together in the face of these criminal acts that tarnish and violate the basic human principles," said Ensour.

He also expressed condolences to Turkish President Recep Erdogan through cable.

Also Monday, King Abdullah II of Jordan sent cable of condolences to Erdogan condemning the attack.

The Turkish premier was scheduled to hold talks with King Abdullah and Ensour on bilateral relations and regional development during the visit. Endit
