Hou Yifan from China defeated Maria Muzychuk from Ukraine in the Game 6 of the Women World Chess Championship final on Wednesday,to grab a 4-2 lead in the 10-game match.

The game, held in the city of Lviv in western Ukraine, saw a slow start as both players were cautious on each move after three draws in a row.

It was Muzychuk who started to play offensively towards the end of the game, seeking for her first win in the series on her home soil.
