Spain's consumer confidence fell by 3.9 points from January to February to 95.2 points, indicating a negative perspective on Spain's economic situation, according to data published on Thursday by the Sociological Research Center (CIS).
The Consumer Confidence Indicator (CCI) ranges between 0 and 200 points, with ratings over 100 points considered positive perceptions of the economic situation and ratings below that figure indicating a negative perception.
The indicator of people's expectations for the future fell by three points to 102.7 points while the indicator of the current economic situation fell by 4.7 points to 87.7 points.
In general, 35.9 percent of the people surveyed believed the current economic situation was worse than six months ago and 31.7 percent believed it would improve in the next six months.
The CIS conducted more than 1,500 interviews to determine the CCI which helps forecast the evolution of the country's economy, taking into account consumers' behavior that directly affects domestic demand. Endit
