Myanmar keeps monitoring Tsunami as massive quake hits Indonesia

Xinhua, March 3, 2016 Adjust font size:

Myanmar's Earthquake Committee has been monitoring possible Tsunami wave in its coastal areas after Indonesia was hit by a massive earthquake Wednesday.

Myanmar's Meteorology and Hydrology Department said it is working closely with its counterparts of Indonesia and Australia, keeping constant watch on the situation in order to issue warning timely.

A massive earthquake struck on Wednesday off the Indonesian Island of Sumatra which was once a region devastated by the Indian Ocean quake and tsunami in 2004.

In the latest development, initial fear of another region-wide disaster faded as Tsunami warning was cancelled. Endit
