Macao starts youth visitor program to boost communication with Chinese mainland

Xinhua, March 1, 2016 Adjust font size:

Macao will organize thousands of young people to visit Chinese mainland in next three years, the special administrative region's information bureau announced Tuesday.

In its 2016 administrative report, Macao government plans to initiate "One Thousand Visitors Plan" to send 1,000 youth to visit Chinese mainland every year. The three-year program will help young Macao people to have deeper and wider understanding of Chinese mainland, and encourage them to participate in the development of the nation.

Cooperated with China's education ministry and All-China Youth Federation, this program is led by Office of the Chief Executive of the Macao SAR, and run by Macao Foundation. The visitors will be selected from middle schools and youth organizations.

The first batch of visitors will come to Guangdong, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai, with itinerary featuring leadership building, science and technology innovation, as well as culture and arts. Endit
