Lego's double digit growth continues in 2015

Xinhua, March 1, 2016 Adjust font size:

Danish toy giant Lego's double digit growth continued in 2015 with sales up 25 percent compared to the year before, the company said Tuesday.

Revenue amounted to 35.8 billion Danish kroner (5.2 billion U.S. dollars) for the full year 2015, up from 28.6 billion kroner in 2014. Net profits rose 31 percent to 9.2 billion kroner from 7 billion kroner registered in 2014, Lego said in its annual financial report.

All the Lego Group's market regions achieved double-digit sales growth in 2015 when the traditional toy market in most countries grew by mid-single digit rates.

Lego said an innovative and consumer-oriented development process is key to its continued success as new produces make up approximately 60 percent of the total tales each year.

During the coming years, Lego expects to grow moderately ahead of the global toy market that is expected to grow low single digit.

It added the goal is expected to be achievable due to the group's continued focus on innovation and its commitment to global expansion.

Meanwhile, it expects "continued sales growth and satisfactory results for 2016." (1 U.S. dollar=6.86 Danish kroner) Endit
