The prime ministers of Morocco and Belgium said here Tuesday that they are determined to boost bilateral cooperation, particularly in the fields of security and migration.

During their meeting, the two sides determined to closely coordinate their efforts to counter the growing security challenges, especially terrorism, Moroccan Government Chief's Department said in a statement.

Visiting Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel said "Morocco is a country that plays a fundamental role in the fight against terrorism,'' expressing the wish of his country to further strengthen cooperation with Morocco in this area.

He hailed the political, economic and social reforms initiated by Morocco within a framework of stability and security, adding that this approach has made Morocco a "distinguished model" in the region.

Both sides praised the quality of the long-standing relations between the two Kingdoms, which are based on esteem and mutual respect, the source noted.

According to the statement, the two sides expressed their hope to strengthen bilateral relations in other fields, notably renewable energy, environment, agriculture and professional training in a variety of promising partnership sectors. Endit
