Fitch put Belarus short-term rating at "B" with stable outlook

International rating agency Fitch Ratings gave Belarus's long-term sovereign credit rating of "B-" and short-term rating of "B" with a "stable" outlook, Belarus Finance Ministry said on Monday in a statement.

"These ratings correspond to the sovereign credit ratings of Belarus from Standard & Poor's and one notch above from Moody's rating agency," the statement said.

On Friday, Russian Ambassador to Belarus Alexander Surikov said that the Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development (ESFR) will provide financial assistance to Belarus.

In addition to 2 billion U.S. dollars from the EFSR, Minsk also seeks 3 billion dollars from the International Monetary Fund. Endit
