Mainland's Taiwan affairs chief meets business leaders

Zhang Zhijun, the Chinese mainland's Taiwan affairs chief, has called on the Taiwan business community on the mainland to promote economic exchanges and cooperation across the Taiwan Strait.

Zhang, head of the Taiwan Work Office of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, made the remarks on Monday when meeting with representatives of the community at a forum held by the Association of Taiwan Investment Enterprises on the Mainland (ATIEM).

Zhang called on ATIEM members to continue to uphold the 1992 Consensus and maintain cross-Strait peace and development.

He also called on those on the mainland to advance cross-Strait economic integration and improve the welfare of people on both sides

He expressed the hope that the ATIEM will carry on its work as a bridge and link between the two sides for better development of Taiwanese enterprises on the mainland. Endi
