Urgent: Gold up on weaker U.S. equities, dollar

Gold futures on the COMEX division of the New York Mercantile Exchange rose Friday as U.S. equities and the U.S. Dollar showed weakness.

The most active gold contract for April delivery rose 4.5 U.S. dollars, or 0.37 percent, to settle at 1,230.8 dollars per ounce. Endit
