About 13 soldiers were killed and several others injured when a suicide bomber blew himself up at a military camp in Yemen's southern port city of Aden on Wednesday, a security official told Xinhua.

"A suicide bomber detonated his explosives belt at the main gate of Ras Abbas military base in Aden's western district of Buraiga, where scores of new army recruits were present for training," the local security source said on condition of anonymity. (Yemen-Suicide Bombing)

MANILA -- Four people, including a child, were killed with two others injured when a roadside bomb exploded in the southern Philippine province of Maguindanao, military said Wednesday.

The victims were heading toward Datu Saudi Ampatuan Tuesday night when an improvised explosive device hit their vehicle near Salbu village, said Major General Edmundo Pangilinan, commander of the Army's 6th Infantry Division. (Philippines-Explosion)

MAIMANA -- At least three civilians were killed and 10 others wounded in an explosion in Maimana, capital of Afghanistan's northern province of Faryab on Wednesday, an official said.

"An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) attached to a bicycle was detonated along a busy road where two local banks' branches are located. The blast occurred at around 10:30 in the morning (06:00 a.m. GMT)," a provincial security source told Xinhua anonymously. "The killed along with the injured were shifted to a nearby hospital." ANKARA -- A soldier was killed and two others wounded in clashes with the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in southeastern Diyarbakir province, a statement of the Turkish General Staff said Wednesday.

According to the statement, one soldier was heavily wounded and died later in a hospital, while two others sustained light wounds in an operation carried out against PKK militants in Sur on Tuesday. The statement added that a PKK militant was also killed during the operation. (Turkey-PKK) Endi
