Liaoning beats Zhejiang 138-105 to lead 2-0 in CBA playoffs

Liaoning beat Zhejiang 138-105 at home in the first round of Chinese Basketball Association league (CBA) playoffs on Wednesday, leading 2-0 in the best-of-five series.

Unlike the slow start in the last match, Liaoning played well at the beginning this time. Zhengjiang were caught by a 11-1 run, which made Ding Wei, the coach of the visitors, called a timeout. But Liaoning didn't give their opponent any chance and led with 36-21 in the first quarter.

"We defended very well, and they had few fast break. We control the tempo of the game all the time," said Guo Shiqiang, the coach of Liaoning. Liaoning's efforts on attacking was also outstanding. The hosts finished the first half by 74-48.

In the second half, Liaoning pushed Zhejiang to nearly abandon the game with a gap over 40 points in the third quarter. Finally, the hosts beat Zhejiang with 138-105.

Lester Hudson scored game-high 30 points. Shavlik Randolph contributed 25 points and 12 rebounds. Charles Gaines got team-high 27 points and 10 rebounds for Zhejiang. Endit
