Belgian air traffic controllers plan industrial action from Monday

Xinhua, February 13, 2016 Adjust font size:

Air traffic controllers in Belgium are planning industrial action from February 15, local media reported on Friday.

According to La Dernière Heure newspaper, the action by staff at Belgocontrol will not have any impact on passengers or airport traffic. However, unions have warned of a strike "if management do not follow up on our demands".

An attempt to reach a compromise failed on Friday, the newspaper added. Belgocontrol employees will refuse to take part in training sessions from Monday.

Unions are protesting about the lack of a long-term strategic plan for the Belgian air traffic control body, La Dernière Heure reported. Enditem
