Ukrainian soccer club Shakhtar Donetsk on Friday said that they have completed a transfer of thier leader Alex Texeira to the Chinese Super League side Jiangsu Suning on a deal worth 50 million euros (about 56 million U.S. dollars).

"Shakhtar and Jiangsu Suning concluded a record deal in the history of the Ukrainian and the Chinese football," Sergey Palkin, Shakhtar's Chief Executive Officer, wrote in a statement.

Commenting on his transfer, Texeira said his ambition in the new team is to make Jiangsu Suning a frontrunner of the Chinese top-flight soccer league and become one of the leading players of the division.

"My goal is to help my team to achieve new victories and lift it to a top-level, as well as to become a champion and a top goal-scorer," Texeira told reporters.

Texeira, the 26-year-old Brazilian international, has spent in Ukraine more than 6 years, after moving from Vasco de Gama -- the soccer club based in Rio de Janeiro, in December 2009.

The attacking midfielder has scored 89 goals in 223 appearances for the Ukrainian side. Endit
