Indian stocks close higher

Indian stocks notched up handsome gains for the second day on Friday, led by a rally in banking, metal and IT stocks.

The benchmark S&P BSE Sensex closed at 24,616.97, 278.54 points or 1.14 percent up from previous close of 24,338.43, with a turnover of 555.55 crore rupees (about 82.1 million U.S. dollars). Endit
