Indonesian sport ministry asks FIFA to conduct revision on ad hoc committee

Xinhua, February 5, 2016 Adjust font size:

Indonesian sport ministry requested the world international football body, FIFA, to carry out revision on the management of the ad hoc committee it has established in Indonesia, spokesman of the ministry said here on Friday.

Gatot S. Dewa Broto, spokesman of the ministry made the statement following the FIFA's request to the ministry to join the committee.

Last year, FIFA top officials visited Indonesia and established the committee in an effort to help settle problem on the country's soccer.

"We ask FIFA to conduct revision. The responsibility of ad hoc committee has to be jointly discussed," Gatot said at the ministry.

The ministry froze the country's football association following the conflict.

On February 2, FIFA sent a letter to the ministry, asking it to join in the ad hoc committee.

"We do not have a problem with the ad hoc committee. Principally we support the ad hoc committee," the spokesman said.

On the request of chairman of the committee Agum Gumelar to Indonesian Sport Minister Imam Nahrawi to discuss the problem at the country's football association, Gatot said that the minister agreed on it.

"It has been scheduled for a meeting on February 10," the spokesman said. Endit
