Russia, Oman sign mutual visa exemption agreement

Russia and Oman signed here on Wednesday an agreement on the mutual exemption of visas for holders of diplomatic, special and service passports.

This came during a meeting between Omani foreign minister Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah and his visiting Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov.

The two ministers discussed bilateral cooperation in various fields and ways to serve the common interests of both countries.

The two sides also exchanged views on regional and international issues of common concern, especially the recent developments in the Middle East, including the situation in Syria.

During a joint conference after the meeting, the Russian Foreign Minister said that Russia and Oman share similar views on the international efforts to solve the issues in Yemen, Libya, Palestine and other places in the region.

On his part, Yousef bin Alawi bin Abdullah called for joint efforts to deal with the crises in the region. Enditem
