Former east China vice mayor faces graft charges

Xinhua, February 2, 2016 Adjust font size:

Kong Hailong, former vice mayor of Wenzhou City in east China's Zhejiang Province, is accused of accepting bribes, local authorities confirmed Tuesday.

According to Hangzhou People's Procuratorate, Hangzhou Intermediate People's Court will hear Kong's case, and decide whether the former official accepted bribes and took advantage of his position to aid others.

Kong had previously worked as the head of Jinyun County, Zhejiang Province. He was appointed Wenzhou vice mayor in May 2013.

Last year 37 provincial and ministerial level officials were put under investigation, proving China has zero tolerance for corruption. Endi
