Liaoning Whowin signs Congolese defender Assani from Bremen

Xinhua, January 26, 2016 Adjust font size:

Congolese central defender Assani Lukimya-Mulongoti has joined Chinese Super League side Liaoning Whowin from German Bundesliga giant Werder Bremen, the Chinese club confirmed on Tuesday.

Assani, 30, had played for Bremen since May 2012 and made 10 appearances in the 2015/16 season.

Meanwhile, Liaoning Whowin also confirmed the signing of another central defender, Michael Thwaite from Australia.

Thwaite, 29, had played for Australian A-League side Perth Glory.

Although the Chinese club has yet disclosed the details of the contracts, it believes that Assani and Thwaite will fortify the team's defence.

It was reported that Liaoning Whowin is looking for a foreign midfielder. Enditem
