One person died and another was seriously injured in a landslide in the underground laboratory of the French National Agency for Management of Nuclear Waste (Andra) in Bure, northeast France, Le Figaro reported Tuesday.

The underground research lab, located 500 meters underground, is where Andra stores the most radioactive waste, Le Figaro added, citing rescue sources.

According to the report, this is the first time that such an incident has happened in the underground lab.
