Earthquakes near northern Morocco injures 15

A series of earthquakes struck the Mediterranean between Morocco and Spain early Monday, injuring 15 people in Morocco, according to medical sources.

Local health authority in Hoceima, northern Morocco, told the press that local hospitals had received 15 people with injuries due to panic following three consecutive quakes.

An earthquakes of 6.3-magnitude was recorded off the northern city of Nador at 0422 GMT, the Moroccan National Institute of Geophysics said. It was followed by a 5.3-magnitude tremor at 0433 GMT, and a 5.5-magnitude at 5.54 GMT.

In 2004, a 6.3-magnitude quake struck neighboring Hoceima city, claiming hundreds of lives and leaving thousands homeless. Endit
