Hangzhou joins the trillion-yuan club

The GDP of Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang Province, grew by 10.2 percent to one trillion yuan (150 billion U.S. dollars) in 2015, according to official statistics released on Monday.

Hangzhou is home to a thriving private sector and the headquarters of e-commerce company Alibaba.

GDP per capita in Hangzhou reached 18,025 U.S. dollars last year, according to the municipal bureau of statistics.

Other Chinese cities in the one-trillion-yuan club include Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and six others. Endit
