Slovenian President Borut Pahor held an unannounced informal working lunch with visiting Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic at the Otocec castle in Slovenian Sunday, during which they discussed European Union (EU)'s challenges in the face of the refugee crisis.
In light of stricter border controls some EU countries have started imposing due to the heavy refugee flow, Pahor and Grabar-Kitarovi agreed "close and friendly relations" should be fostered among all neighbouring countries, especially those on the Balkan route. the Slovenian Press Agency reported quoting sources from Pahor's office.
Pahor and Grabar-Kitarovic also touched on the continuation of the regional Brdo-Brijuni process, as part of which a meeting is to be held in Bosnia-Herzegovina at the end of May. The talks are to focus on efforts for countries of the southeastern European countries to join the EU and NATO.
According to Pahor's office, Sunday's meeting in Otocec was in line with the presidents' agreement on holding regular talks to discuss topical bilateral and international issues. Endit
