Chinese Vice Premier Wang Yang on Thursday stressed precision in poverty relief.

The year 2016 is the opening year for winning the campaign of tackling the difficult parts of poverty relief, after the country has fulfilled its anti-poverty targets set for 2015, he said at a meeting of the State Council leading group on poverty relief.

He urged innovating methods in poverty relief, noting more efforts shall be made in relocating poor people out of the disadvantaged areas, improving infrastructure in less developed regions, promoting labor export, introducing industries with unique features, and improving education and health for the disadvantaged communities, he said.

Wang, who heads the group, urged supervision on the tasks so that they can be finished on time.

China aims to bring more than 70 million people above the poverty line before 2020.
