Belarus supports lifting of sanctions against Iran

Xinhua, January 19, 2016 Adjust font size:

Belarus welcomes the beginning of the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) on Iran's nuclear program signed between Iran and a group of six of international mediators, Belarusian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Monday.

Belarus supports the efforts of Iran and the international mediators, namely the United Kingdom, Germany, China, Russia, the United States, and France, to lift the sanctions imposed on Iran, the ministry said.

Belarus is convinced that the full implementation of the JCPOA will contribute to the strengthening of international security, non-proliferation, and will become an effective contribution to the stabilization of the situation in the region.

The implementation of the JCPOA clearly shows that there is no alternative to dialogue and diplomatic means of addressing complex international problems and disputes, the ministry stressed.

According to Belarus, the lifting of sanctions against Iran opens up new prospects for further development of the Belarusian-Iranian mutual cooperation. Endit
