In the eyes of eight-year-old American boy Dorian Murray who has been battling cancer for more than three years, the Great Wall of China is a kind of "bridge."
Days after he and his family in Westerly Rhode Island of the United States decided to stop the treatment as a checkup showed that cancer cells in Dorian's body had spread to his spinal and brain, the boy made his wish last weekend that he wanted to be famous on the "bridge in China," referring to the Great Wall.
Now the Great Wall truly has become a bridge that connects the hearts of loving Chinese people and the tough American boy, who has been struggling against Rhabdomyosarcoma, a pediatric cancer that was diagnosed when he was 4.
Learning about Dorian's story and his wish through social media in the United States and China, more and more Chinese people started to upload their pictures of holding a sign of "#D-Strong" on the Great Wall or other locations in China.
Dorian's wish comes true. He is famous in China now. Through their pictures, those Chinese are trying to tell the boy -- as long as you wish, things can happen.
"Stay strong, Dorian," some Chinese put on the web along with their pictures.
Love has magic power. A boy's imagination has turned the anti-invasion wall into a bridge that connects hearts oceans away. Language barrier, thousands of miles of distance, East to the West ... all are nothing with this bridge.
Smart boy, stay strong! If you wish, things may happen. Endit
