Azerbaijani president meets with U.S. National Security Council official over cooperation

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on Wednesday met here with Charles Kupchan, director for European Affairs of the United States National Security Council, in a bid to bolster cooperation.

The meeting focused on issues of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the United States in the field of regional security and counter-terrorism, said a document posted at the official website of the President.

While underscoring the importance of Azerbaijan's contribution to the peacekeeping mission in Afghanistan, the two also discussed the ongoing development of bilateral ties and partnership between the two countries in more fields, including energy, as well as the issues related to the resolution of Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno Karabakh military conflict.
