Dakar Rally claims second fatality in four days

Xinhua, January 13, 2016 Adjust font size:

The Dakar Rally claimed its second fatality in four days when a person died during a traffic accident on Tuesday.

Another five people were injured in the collision involving two trucks in the northern Argentine city of Cordoba.

One of the vehicles was a tow truck transporting the same Misubishi Lancer that was involved in the death of a Bolivian spectator on Saturday.

French driver Lionel Baud quit the race after being behind the wheel during Saturday's crash.

Tuesday's incident was the 65th death in the history of the annual off-road race and the seventh since it was moved to South America from Africa in 2009. Endit
