EU foreign policy chief meets Queen Rania of Jordan on Syria crisis

European Union (EU) foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini met here Tuesday with the Queen of Jordan Rania Al Abdallah.

According to a press release issued by the European External Action Service, they discussed the very tense and volatile situation in the region, in particular the crisis in Syria and the humanitarian consequences that affect also the neighboring countries.

Mogherini, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, praised Jordan's role as a strong partner and a crucial player for the stability of the region, and for generously hosting a great number of Syrian refugees.

Mogherini confirmed that the EU will continue to closely cooperate with Jordan and will mobilize all its instruments to increase its support the country in the coming months. Endit
