Car bomb kills at least four in Libyan oil port

A suicide car bomb killed at least four people, including a child, on Thursday in Libya's northern oil port of Ras Lanuf, said a spokesman for the Petroleum Facility Guard (PFG).
"A Toyota Land Cruiser exploded at a checkpoint at the western gate of Ras Lanuf city, killing three guards and wounding two," said Osama al-Haderi, spokesman for the PFG which is loyal to the government.
Another car carrying a family of five, including a 16-month child, was at the checkpoint at the time of the attack. They were injured and taken to hospital, and the child died later, al-Haderi added.
No one has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.
Ras Lanuf, located some 600 kilometers east of Tripoli, is a coastal town and harbors one of the largest oil ports in the country. The Islamic State has attempted to take over the oil terminal and clashed with PFG guards since last week.
Libya has been suffering from political division and chaos since the fall of Muammar Gaddafi's regime in 2011. Endi
