Tokyo shares open lower on China concerns

Tokyo shares continued losing ground by opening the trading Friday following declines in the overseas market amid concerns over China's economic outlook.

At 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average lost 161.40 points, or 0.91 percent, from Thursday to 17,605.94.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 9.96 points, or 0.68 percent, to 1,447.98. Enditem
