Nigeria football official shot dead by gunmen

Xinhua, January 6, 2016 Adjust font size:

A senior official of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) was shot dead early Wednesday by gunmen who stormed his home in the Nigerian capital Abuja, NFF said.

Ibrahim Abubakar, 43, was the head of protocol at the Nigerian federation.

A NFF statement described his death as "painful" and said the deceased was "full of life" while at the office on Tuesday.

In a separate statement, NFF secretary general Mohammed Sanusi described Abubakar as a "dedicated and assiduous staff".

Local security agencies said they have launched an investigation into the killing. Preliminary investigation has already revealed the gunmen broke into Abubakar's home and opened fire on him. Endi
