The Philippine government on Wednesday condemned the Democratic People's Republic of Korea's (DPRK) hydrogen bomb test.

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said the Philippines is gravely concerned over DPRK's action.

"The Philippines strongly condemns any violation of UN Security Council Resolutions which demand that the DPRK not conduct further nuclear tests," the department said in a statement.

Manila joined the international partners in "strongly urging" DPRK "to desist from continuing these acts of provocation and abandon all nuclear weapons and programs in the interest of peace and stability in the region."
