Bahrain on Monday announced it was severing diplomatic relations with Iran and asked Iranian diplomats to leave the country within 48 hours.

The decision follows a similar step taken by neighboring Saudi Arabia on Sunday.

"Bahrain has decided to end diplomatic relations with Iran because of its continuous interference in the affairs of the kingdom, and also of the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council)," the Bahrain News Agency said, quoting a statement. Endit
