Afghan army kills 19 militants in latest operations

About 19 insurgents have been killed in Afghanistan as the country's security forces continue to press the militants across the country, the Defense Ministry said on Monday.

"The Afghan National Army (ANA) in close collaboration with Afghan police and intelligence agency personnel launched cleanup operations over the past 24 hours, killing 19 insurgents and wounding 27 others," the ministry said in a statement.

The statement also confirmed the loss of four army personnel in separate incidents across the country over the same period.

The Taliban militant group has yet to make comments. Enditem
