Turkish Airlines flight recalled at Mumbai airport over bomb scare

Xinhua, January 4, 2016 Adjust font size:

A Turkish Airlines plane was recalled from the runway at Mumbai airport on Monday following a bomb scare over an unattended mobile phone on a seat of the aircraft.

"Turkish Airlines flight to Istanbul was called back from the runway at Mumbai airport after a suspicious object was found in the aircraft," a Mumbai Airport spokesperson told the media.

However, the plane was later cleared for take-off after security personnel deplaned all the passengers and carried out a thorough check.

It was the pilot of the Boeing 777-300ER who decided to return the plane to the bay after the unclaimed cell phone was detected on board, another official said. Enditem
