China renews orange alert for fog

China's weather observatory renewed its orange alert for fog on Sunday.

Sunday morning, fog will be thickest in Hubei, Tianjin, Shandong and Sichuan, with visibility less than 200 meters, according to the National Meteorological Center.

Visibility will be less than 500 meters in parts of Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Shandong, Henan, Shaanxi, Jiangsu, Anhui, Hubei, Hunan, Fujian, Liaoning and Sichuan.

Snow will disperse the smog on Monday and Tuesday, while rain will sweep some parts in southern China, the observatory said.

The public has been warned to take protective measures when engaging in outdoor activities, and those who suffer from respiratory diseases are advised to stay indoors.

China has a four-tier warning system, with red as the most severe, followed by orange, yellow and blue. Endi
