Five people died while a dozen sustained injuries on Friday following a clan fight in a village in Hiirani region of Central Somalia, officials have said.

PARIS -- France has carried out air strikes on oil sites near Rappa, Islamic State (IS) stronghold in Syria, local media reported on Friday.

KABUL -- At least three people were killed and 15 others wounded after a suicide car bomber struck a restaurant in Afghan capital of Kabul on Friday, sources said.
"The blast went off near French restaurant Le Jardin, frequented by foreigners in Qala-e-Fatullah Khan locality. The incident took place at around 5:00 p.m. local time," witness Ahmad Soulaiman told Xinhua. (Afghanistan-Blast)

BAGHDAD -- A total of 980 Iraqis were killed and 1,244 others wounded in acts of terrorism, violence and armed conflict across Iraq in December, the UN Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) said in on Friday.

JERUSALEM -- Israel on Friday returned the bodies of 23 Palestinians killed in recent attacks against Israelis to the Palestinian authority, the Israeli army said.
